Seen here in a rich wheat colourway, these Converse CTAS 70's Ox Renew Shoes represent the latest Renew project which looks to incorporate recycled materials made from post consumer waste across signature footwear models. The uppers and laces are made from 100% recycled polyester whilst metal components have been removed to make way for embroidered alternatives along the lace eyestays and inner panel ventilation eyelets. The tongue is made from the same 100% recycled polyester, coloured in a light natural tone, which emphasises tagline lettering along the top edge reading ‘Life’s Too Short To Waste’. White top stitching flows across the uppers and matches the thick rubber outsole, which includes an additional textured panel around the front of the toes and a black and white Converse All Star heel patch. Ensuring reliable grip, a staple brown tread pattern completes the design.
Rethinking ways in which recycled post consumer waste can be used, summer ‘19 sees the launch of the Converse Renew project which has been four years in the making within the brand’s innovation centre. A capsule collection of styles reflect the brand’s recent progressions into more sustainable manufacturing techniques and focus on developing innovative ways consumer waste and unwanted items can be reused for new products. On the horizon Renew Cotton and Renew Denim capsules result in unique models that combine looking good with feeling good and promote positive movements within the industry.
